In 1978 I wrote a book "You're off to See the Wizard: A Journey Towards Self Employment." I asked my Grandmother Helen if she would write a poem for the back page. One day later she gave me this poem. This was the first time I got the idea of the power of poetry to teach concepts. I was shocked that she could say the exact same thing and make the same exact points in a poem that I had to use an entire book. I was just 34 years old. I never dreamed or ever desired to be a poet.
