One night as I pondered on the troubles of the day.
I slipped into my cozy bed to try to pass the night away.
I just had returned from a long trip and on that trip I hardly made a slip.
People always say that the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence.
Well doesn't that make sense?
I say that love is stronger than the mind and that is no line.
I could not sleep so slowly I crept, to the other room so as not to wake those who slept. The trip ahead of me on the sea of life, is a hard one, full of strife.
Sitting in my arm chair I looked to the future.
What does it bring?
Happiness and a wedding ring?
Today! Live for the moment I am told by many.
Your future my boy is bright as a penny.
My future is as bright as a penny I say?
What about today?
Ten years ago I would say.
Wait until I am seventeen.
