This is my mother's mother, my grandmother the poet. She was always kind, loving, and generous to me. She would tell me stories of the family and what happened as she remembered. I try to do this for my children but I am not sure if they are interested. In one second all this information disappears.

Our family spent years searching for Grandma Helen's poems. I had read the above poems when I was at Syracuse University in a class. But, we never found most of them.

From our experience as a family I would suggest that as an artist we should do three things. One assemble our work and send it to the US Government for copyright. Two send our work to several people in the family at the same time. Three date and sign our work.

Of course their is the Internet as I have done. This will end when I stop paying for my websites or it is no longer available. One thing I am happy about is that I have helped my grandmother as a poet through this site.

I believe that my Grandmother was a a better poet than I am. I will write more about my Grandmother under each of her poems. DM 11/19/07
